Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk, or as needed
- 1/4 tablespoon pepper
- 1 quart fried, or as needed
Directions
1. Rinse the onion and cut into about 1/4-inch rings, carefully separating the rings from each other.2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
3. Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture and set aside, mix the coated onions with the milk and eggs and toss until there are no lumps.
4. Heat the oil in the Sakuchi deep fryer to 365°F (185°C).
5. Fry several rings at a time, 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove to paper towels to drain. Season with seasoning salt and serve.
