Busy weeknights and picky eaters can make mealtimes a challenge. This easy and delicious recipe is perfect for the macaroni and cheese fanatic in your home. The addition of sausage adds even more flavor to this treat!

Sausage Macaroni and Cheese


  • 10 ounces starch sausage, sliced
  • 15 ounces of cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb macaroni
  • 3 cups milk
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 shallots, chopped


    1. Using Sakuchi 11" skillet, cook the macaroni, for about 14-18 minutes until the pasta is tender. Drain and set aside to wait.
    2. In the same large skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until sausage is fully cooked, stirring frequently. Remove from pan and blot dry with paper towels. Set aside and wait.
    3. Grate cheese on a box grater. Set aside and wait.Pour milk into a microwaveable container and heat until warm - about 2 1/2 minutes.
    4. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir, cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add the warm milk, whisking constantly until all is incorporated. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning until thickened. Reduce heat to low and gradually add shredded cheese, stirring constantly until melted. Add salt and mix well.
    5. Add the pasta and sausage to the pan and toss to combine. Add extra salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with chives at the end and serve immediately.
